What tests will my child be required to take?
Wyoming Virtual Academy’s (WYVA’s) K–8 program is mastery based, which means students master concepts and lessons before moving on to the next lesson. Following state guidelines, students are expected to make at least a year’s growth in a year’s time. Teachers will assess mastery and provide feedback to students and families. High school students work to achieve credits towards graduation and are expected to progress through their specific coursework in the required timeframe.
Will my child have to participate in state testing?
Yes. As public school students, all WYVA students must participate in all state-mandated testing as defined by the Wyoming Department of Education. In addition, students are required to take district assessments.
