Fallon’s Giving Bags: Making a Difference, the WYVA Way!

Fallon, a 7th grader at Wyoming Virtual Academy (WYVA), is proving that making a difference can start at any age. This inspiring student isn’t just acing her classes; she’s also the founder of “Fallon’s Giving Bags,” an organization that’s spreading kindness throughout her community.
It all started with a simple idea. Fallon, a scholarship pageant participant, wanted to create a platform to give back. Inspired by a local community leader and recognizing a need for hygiene products in her Wyoming community, Fallon, with the help of her mom, launched Fallon’s Giving Bags. What began as a small project quickly blossomed into something much bigger.

So, what exactly are Fallon’s Giving Bags? They’re packages of hope, filled with travel-sized hygiene products, period products, socks, and other essentials. These bags go to domestic violence shelters, homeless shelters, and schools in Wyoming, bringing comfort and dignity to those in need. Fallon collects donations, assembles the bags, adds her labels, and delivers them to organizations like WYOGives, Comea Shelter, and the Cheyenne homeless shelter. Her incredible work has even been featured on KGAB radio and at a Zonta Club meeting!
Starting an organization from scratch isn’t easy. Fallon admits that navigating donation legalities and managing costs was a challenge. Initially, she used her own allowance and earnings, but generous donations have helped Fallon’s Giving Bags grow and reach even more people in Wyoming. She hopes to create a website for easier donations and volunteer opportunities, expand throughout Wyoming and beyond, and maybe even turn her passion for community service into a future career.
WYVA’s supportive community has played a vital role in Fallon’s success. Mr. Littlejohn, her SkillsUSA advisor, has been incredibly encouraging, and SkillsUSA even chose Fallon’s Giving Bags as their community project! Mrs. Veal, her science teacher and student council advisor, has also been a constant source of support.
Fallon’s advice for students considering online school in Wyoming? “WYVA is amazing! It’s perfect for anyone who wants flexibility and a supportive community. It doesn’t even feel like online school sometimes; it feels like a regular public school where I get to connect with friends and teachers.”
Fallon’s story is a shining example of how Wyoming Virtual Academy empowers students to pursue their passions and make a real difference. Inspired by Fallon? Learn more about WYVA and become a student today!
