Danielle Opitz | English Language Learner Teacher
Mrs. Opitz serves as the K-12 English Language Learner (ELL) teacher/coordinator for WYVA. She has taught in a variety of settings from elementary through university levels since she began teaching in 1993. She attended the University of Kansas, earning her bachelors in elementary education, her Masters in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL), and an endorsement in teaching reading. She has also had the opportunity to travel abroad and teach English in the Czech Republic. Mrs. Opitz and her husband have 3 teenage children. She loves living in Star Valley, Wyoming and calling the mountains her home.
Jeanie Stukey | High School Counselor
Ms. Stukey (rhymes with cookie) has served Wyoming students as a HS Counselor since 2005 and joined WYVA in 2020. She was raised in Alaska and currently lives in Powell, Wyoming. She earned a Master’s Degree in School Counseling from Montana State University-Billings, and a Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Alaska-Fairbanks. She is passionate about helping students plan and prepare for college, and advising students as they pursue graduation and eligibility for the Hathaway Scholarship program.
