Meet Our Teachers
Stacey Cass, K–6 Educator
Mrs. Cass is a K-2 Teacher who joined the Wyoming Virtual Academy in 2010. She brings more than 11 years of teaching experience in Special Education, Elementary Education, and ESL. She holds a degree in Special Education K-12 and Elementary Education from Black Hills State University. Her past experience includes teaching in Developmental Kindergarten, 2nd grade, as well as Special Education K-6.
Eugenia Farinha, K–6 Educator
Mrs. Farinha is a Kindergarten teacher who began working with WYVA in 2009. She has over 14 years’ experience in education. Genia earned her BA in Education from Western Governors University in K-6 education.
Faye Hall, K–6 Educator
Mrs. Hall is an elementary teacher who joined the WYVA team in 2009. She brings more than 30 years’ experience in education and community service. She has served on a local school board and the Wyoming State Board of Education. She received her degree from the University of Wyoming in Elementary Education and an Early Childhood Associate Degree from Casper College.
Angelique Littlejohn, K–6 Educator
Mrs. Littlejohn is an Instructional Facilitator for WYVA. This is her 10th year with WYVA and her 15th year total in education. She is the MTSS Coordinator and works with a team to help students who are experiencing major struggles with learning. She earned her BA in Elementary Education from the University of Wyoming and her MA in Mathematics 5-12 from Western Governors University. She enjoys volunteering for Boy and Girl Scouts and working with
teachers in professional development.
Lynette Malm-Hunter, K–6 Educator
Since 2009, Mrs. Hunter has enjoyed working with the children of her classroom! She brings over 38 years of experience in education. Mrs. Hunter has earned a BA in Elementary Education from Tabor College and an MA in Whole Learning/Teaching and Learning from Regis University. She has started her doctorate degree and hopes to finish it in a few years. Mrs. Hunter is a licensed educator in the state of Wyoming and has taught in Colorado and Wyoming during her educational career.
Michelle Robbins, K–6 Educator
Mrs. Robbins teaches 6th grade English Language Arts at Wyoming Virtual Academy. She has been teaching online with K12 since 2008. Michelle earned her BA in Education from the University of Wyoming.
Kristie Spencer, K–6 Educator
Mrs. Spencer is a 5th and 6th grade teacher who joined the WYVA team in 2009. She has acquired a total of 23 years of experience in education, community service and development. Kristie earned a BA in Education from the University of Nebraska, along with an endorsement in Elementary Art. Her educational experience brings the love of working with children to help them be successful.
Andrea Williams, K–6 Educator
Mrs. Williams is a first and second grade teacher that began teaching with the Wyoming Virtual Academy in 2009. Mrs. Williams has been teaching for 19 years. She began her teaching career in the brick and mortar teaching fifth and sixth grades, coaching after school sports and running the student council. Mrs. Williams graduated from the University of WY with a BA in Elementary Education and an endorsement in Middle School.
Lisa Williams, K–6 Educator
Mrs. Lisa Williams is a 3rd grade lead teacher and began working with WYVA in October of 2011. She has a BA in Elementary Education from the University of Wyoming and a MA in Educational Leadership from the American College of Education. She also holds a certificate in Early Childhood Education. Mrs. Williams in in her 15th year of teaching.
Kimberly Dillon, Science Teacher
Mrs. Dillon is a HS science teacher and HS Lead Teacher who joined the K12 team in 2009. She currently teaches Biology and Physics. She earned a BS in Biology from the University of New Mexico. She continued her education at Eastern New Mexico University where she earned an MA in Secondary Education. She holds certificates in 6-12 Physical Science, 6-12 Biology, and 6-12 English.
Sarah Glasser, German Teacher
Mrs. Glasser has taught German with WYVA for nine years. She is currently in her 21st year of teaching German in Wyoming. Sarah earned a BA in International Affairs in German with a Minor in Education from the University of Maine, Orono. She has a Master's degree in Teaching English to Students of other Languages (TESOL) from Grand Canyon University. Her Professional Teaching Standards Board (PTSB) is for K-12 German.
Andrea Gray, Math Teacher
Mrs. Gray is a high school math teacher who joined WYVA in 2013. She began teaching in 2003 after she earned her BS in Mathematics from New Mexico State University and an MA in Secondary Education. She has since earned a MA in Teacher Leadership from University of Phoenix and is working on becoming highly qualified in Computer Science. She is also an adjunct professor at Casper College teaching a couple of math classes every semester.
Rita Hausmann, English Teacher
Mrs. Hausmann is a high school English teacher who joined the K12 team in 2015. She brings more than 16 years of experience in education. Throughout her career, she has participated in National Honor Society, Competitive Speech and Debate, AP Language Conferences and Summer Readings, and IB training and courses. Mrs. Hausmann has a BA in Speech Communication from Colorado State University, minor in English from the University of Wyoming, and MA in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Wyoming. he holds certifications in English and Speech.
Jennifer Holden, Math Teacher
Mrs. Holden is a middle school math teacher who joined the K12 team five years ago. Jennifer earned a BS in Education with endorsements in Mathematics and Physical Education from Chadron State College in Chadron, NE. She completed her Middle School endorsement for the state of Wyoming in 2000 and her Masters of Science in Teaching Mathematics degree at the University of Wyoming in 2013.
Cecelia Ihnat, Social Studies Teacher
Mrs. Ihnat is a high school social studies teacher who joined the K12 team in 2009. She brings with her over 20 years’ experience. She has taught in the brick and mortar setting and now the virtual setting. She has taught 6 through 12 grades and an array of social studies subjects. Cece earned her BA in Secondary Education from the University of Wyoming. She holds certificates in Social Studies and is endorsed in Sociology, Psychology, and Middle School.
Cathy James, Business Teacher
Ms. James joined WYVA in 2012. She teaches many different electives including all business classes, which is her primary focus. Having been a teacher for more than 20 years, she has also held positions in marketing and sales and, worked for several major computer companies. Ms. James earned her teaching degree from the University of Nebraska.
Gabriel Joyes, Social Studies
Gabe Joyes teaches high school social studies and is in his second year with K12. Previously he worked as a high school teacher in Fort Washakie and Lander, Wyoming, and as a middle school teacher in Mancos, Colorado. Gabe is also the leader of the K12 Blogging and Creative Writing National Club and Head Girls Soccer Coach at Lander Valley High School. He holds a B.A. in Geography and a minor in Sociology and Anthropology from Gustavus Adolphus College, and has a teaching endorsement from Prescott College.
Rachel Kerr, English/Language Arts Teacher
Dr. Rachel Kerr joined WYVA in 2009. She started teaching in 1995. She has taught in Illinois, Hawaii, Guam, and Wyoming. She earned her bachelor's and master's degree from Western Illinois University in 1994 and 1996 respectively. She earned a doctorate degree from Capella in 2014. She currently teaches middle school Language Arts and is the middle school lead teacher.
Tyler Kreitzer, Spanish Teacher
Mr. Tyler Kreitzer has taught online for WYVA for 7 years. He has a Master’s degree in Instructional Technology. With more than 17 years teaching experience, Mr. Kreitzer feels that online learning gives students the opportunity to learn in a comfortable environment free from distraction.
Sharon Krueger, Technology Teacher
Mrs. Krueger is a high school technology teacher. She has over 13 years of teaching experience and is in her 10th year teaching with Wyoming Virtual Academy. Sharon holds an AS in Environmental Science, a BS in Elementary Education, and a MS in Technology in Education. She holds certificates in Elementary Education, Technology in Education, and ESL.
Katherine Kruse, Science Teacher
Mrs. Kruse teaches Chemistry and Honors Chemistry at WYVA since 2014 and also teaches at Niobrara County High School in Lusk, WY. She previously taught for 7 years at Kelly Walsh HS in Casper, Wyoming, teaching Environmental Chemistry, Regular Chemistry, Advance Chemistry, Chemistry II, and AP Chemistry. Mrs. Kruse earned her BS in Chemistry from the University of Wyoming and later earned a Master’s of Curriculum and Instruction from UW. She holds a certificate in Chemistry 6-12th and many coaching endorsements.
Lyndie Larson, Health/Physical Education
Mrs. Larson has been with WYVA for seven years teaching high school physical education, health, and nutrition classes. She has been in teaching for 12 years, formerly teaching P.E. in Arizona and wellness in Gillette, WY. She holds an Associate of Science degree in exercise science from Western Wyoming Community College and a Bachelor of Science degree in kinesiology from the University of Wyoming with coaching endorsements in basketball, volleyball, and track.
Christian Littlejohn, Art Teacher
Mr. Littlejohn is the art teacher for the middle and high school. He has been teaching at WYVA since 2011. Prior to that he taught an additional 5 years in various art teaching positions in Arizona and Florida. Most notably, he taught sculpture at an Arts Magnate School in Florida. He brings a wealth of knowledge to the school with an Associate’s degree in Illustration from BYU-Idaho, a Bachelor’s degree in Art Education from BYU-Utah, and a Master’s degree in Elementary Education from Northern Arizona University.
Caolon McNamee, Social Studies Teacher
Mr. McNamee is a middle school history teacher who joined the WYVA team in 2010. He tries to teach history in an upbeat way from the perspective of global connections and cycles or events, rather than the memorization of battles and names. Caolon earned a BA in history and a BA in psychology from the University of Wyoming, before completing his post-baccalaureate in teaching.
Nancy Merrill, Math Teacher
Nancy Merrill is in her tenth year with WYVA and has been a math teacher for over 35 years. Nancy is a Wyoming native but began her teaching career in Syracuse, NY. She next taught outside New York City in Briarcliff, NY, then outside Boston in Franklin, MA, returning to Wyoming to teach at Big Horn School in Big Horn, Wyoming, for 26 years. Nancy has taught 6-12 mathematics and has been and adjunct teacher for the University of Wyoming. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from the University of Colorado in Boulder, Colorado, a Master’s degree from the University of Wyoming and many hours of education beyond those degrees. Nancy received the National Presidential Award for Mathematics for Wyoming and was a Fulbright Exchange teacher to Japan. Teaching is her passion.
Elizabeth Olson, English Teacher
Mrs. Olson started with K12 (WYVA) in the fall of 2017 and teaches high school English. She earned her BA in English in 1994 from Virginia Commonwealth University and her BS in Secondary Education in 2012 from Chadron State College. Mrs. Olson has been working in education for over ten years, serving students in grades 6 through 12.
Janae Miller, Consumer Science Teacher
Mrs. Miller is a high school Family and Consumer Sciences teacher who joined WYVA in 2015. She holds a Master’s of Education and is currently pursuing courses in education administration. Mrs. Miller teaches a variety of career education courses at WYVA and brings a wide career background to her role. With previous experience as a large-scale retail manager, as a healthcare patient relations program coordinator and as a post-secondary education program coordinator, Mrs. Miller is able to make solid connections for all career students at Wyoming Virtual Academy. Mrs. Miller is currently an adjunct instructor for Eastern Wyoming College, offering concurrent enrollment courses for WYVA students.
Jennifer Schultze, Music Teacher
Mrs. Schultze is the middle and high school music teacher at WYVA. She also serves as the Freshman Advisor, the National Honor Society Advisor and the Students with a Target Ambassador Advisor. Mrs. Schultze has been with WYVA since it started in 2008. She has taught in Wyoming for 19 years and has taught in all musical areas of content. She earned her BA in Music Education from the University of Wyoming, and an MA in Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment from Walden University. Mrs. Schultze also serves on the Professional Teacher Standards Board for the state of Wyoming and is a contractor for K12 at the national level helping to train new K12 Teachers. This year she also started serving as the national K12 5-8 Music Club!
Lorena Veal, Science Teacher
Mrs. Veal is a middle school science teacher who joined the K12 team in 2011. She brings 10 years of experience in education. Lorena earned a BS in Secondary Education from Chadron State College, and a BS in General Biology from Chadron State College. She also holds a certificate in Secondary Science.

Jordon Kanode, Special Education
Mr. Kanode is a special education teacher at the Wyoming Virtual Academy. He brings more than 13 years of special education teaching experience and has taught special education at the elementary, Jr. high, and high school levels. Since 2012, Jordon has taught special education at the Jr. High level for WYVA. Jordon earned a BA in secondary education from the University of Wyoming and a MBA from Walden University. He currently has endorsements in business education K-12, middle school education, social studies comprehensive 6-12, and exceptional generalist K-12.

Yvonne Stewart Perry, K–12 Special Education
Mrs. Perry is a Special Education Teacher for grades 4-6 who joined WYVA in 2009. She has 20 years’ combined experience in education, half being online. She has a BA in Education from the University of Wyoming, a Special Education endorsement and a BS in Criminal Justice.
Michele Thompson, Special Education
Mrs. Thompson is a K-12 special education teacher and occupational therapist who joined WYVA in 2014. She currently works primarily with students in the K-3rd grades. A Wyoming native, Mrs. Thompson graduated in 1991 with a B.S. in Occupational Therapy from Colorado State University and then began her career as an occupational therapist in North Carolina with adults with developmental disabilities, school children, and adults in nursing homes. When she returned in 1995, Mrs. Thompson continued as an occupational therapist in the school settings, acute rehabilitation, and contract therapist for adults with developmental disabilities. From Grand Canyon University in 2007, Mrs. Thompson completed a Master’s of Special Education and began working in a brick and mortar setting. In 2012, Mrs. Thompson completed her 2nd Master’s degree in Education Curriculum Instruction: Technology. Mrs. Thompson has completed Specific Autism training in North Carolina. She also has training in TEACCH Level I, II, and Shadow Training, for students with Autism Spectrum Disorders; training in sensory integration client support including SIPT assessment; training in neuro-developmental education and therapy; and trauma-informed care and reactive attachment disorder.
Mandi Williams, Special Education
Mrs. Mandi Williams is our Speech Language Pathologist. She has been with WYVA for four years. She has centered her entire career on combining her love of language with her love of teaching. Mrs. Williams holds an A.A. in Foreign Language (Persian Farsi) from Monterey Peninsula College, a B.S. in Elementary Education from Montana State University, Billings and a M.S. in Communication Disorders from California State University, Northridge. She has worked in a variety of settings including early childhood education, and currently works with students at K-12 from Kindergarten through 12th grade.
