High School Curriculum

Courses Specifically Designed for High School Students

WYVA uses the K12 high school curriculum to serve our students in grades 9-12. The K12 high school environment blends the best features of the company's world-renowned curriculm with engaging, highly qualified, state-certified Wyoming teachers to produce high school graduates that have the critical thinking skills, time management stragies and extensive knowledge to be successful in our complex 21st century world.  

AP and Honors Classes

The K12 high school course catalog is robust, offering more than 100 core, elective, honors and Advanced Placement (AP) courses. K12 Advanced Placement (AP) courses are college-level courses that follow curriculum specified by the College Board. Like K12  Honors courses, AP courses require a greater degree of self-discipline for in-depth study of the subject. WYVA currently offers the following AP classes:

AP Psychology

AP Government

AP Environmental Science

Earn College Credit While in High School

Does your high school student want a head start on a college education? At Wyoming Virtual Academy, eligible students in grades 10-12 are able to take advanced courses tuition-free and receive up to college 58 credits to apply both to their school diploma and a post-secondary degree. Many of these credits are transferrable to larger universities.

Eligibility is based on student GPA, state assessment score, and principal recommendation. There is an approval process through WYVA to ensure the course is cleared for high school credit and to determine how it will be applied to the student’s transcript.
