Which pathways are offered?
Law Enforcement Services—This pathway prepares students for careers in law enforcement with duties that range from controlling traffic, preventing and investigating crimes, maintaining order, and enforcing laws to issuing traffic summonses, investigating accidents, presenting evidence in court, serving legal documents, and apprehending, arresting, and processing prisoners. Students are also exposed to careers in legal services, which affect nearly every aspect of society, from buying a home to crossing the street. Because they hold such vital positions of great responsibility, those in the legal services field must adhere to a strict code of ethics.
Public Safety—The vision of the LAW Enforcement Pathway is to introduce students to a variety of careers available in the law industry. There is a wide array of topics including Law and Order, National Security, Criminology, and Careers in Criminal Justice 1 & 2 are the anchor classes where students can obtain their IRC. The Law Enforcement Pathway IRC consists of using the iCEV platform, which includes a series of lessons preparing the students for Career Readiness and culminates with a 100 question Career Readiness Exam.
